Training is required for all users of Class 3B and 4 lasers at Georgia Tech. It is also required for Laser Supervisors of embedded laser systems. To access this training:

1. Go to Genius LMS 
2. Click "GT Login" and use your GT Login (if not already logged in)
3. Click "View Course Catalog"
4. Search for "laser"
5. Click the green "Register" button on the "Laser Safety Training" card
6. Click "Proceed to Checkout" at the top right of the page Click "Confirm", then "Go to Dashboard"
7. Click on the name of the course (in the "Active Courses" box)
8. In the new window, if you see multiple courses, click on the one you wish to take
9. Click "Modules" in the left navigation menu, then on the first module
10. Once you've completed the presentation, click on "Modules" then on the "Final Test" If you complete the test with a grade at or above the required score, your training is complete. Otherwise, try again. If you have trouble accessing the course, email ors@ors.gatech.edu.

Refresher laser safety training is required every two years for all Laser Supervisors and Laser Users at Georgia Tech. To access this training:

1. Go to Genius LMS  Click "GT Login" and use your GT Login (if not already logged in)
2. Click "View Course Catalog"
3. Search for "laser"
4. Click the green "Register" button on the "Laser Safety Refresher Training" card
5. Click "Proceed to Checkout" at the top right of the page Click "Confirm", then "Go to Dashboard"
6. Click on the name of the course (in the "Active Courses" box)
7. In the new window, if you see multiple courses, click on the one you wish to take
8. Click "Modules" in the left navigation menu, then on the first module
9. Once you've completed the presentation, click on "Modules" then on the "Final Test" If you complete the test with a grade at or above the required score, your training is complete. Otherwise, try again. If you have trouble accessing the course, email ors@ors.gatech.edu.

Individuals that work in labs containing Class 3B or Class 4 lasers, but are not Laser Users, must complete an awareness level laser safety training.

1. Go to Genius LMS 
2. Click GT Login and use your GT Login 
3. Click ‘View Course Catalog’ on the left hand side 
4. Search for "Laser Safety" in the "Search for Courses..." box at the top right
5. Locate the course card for "Laser Safety Awareness Training" 
6. Click the green “Register” button 
7. Click “Proceed to Checkout” at the top right of the page, then click “Confirm”, then “Go to Dashboard” 
8. Click on the name of the course (in the “Active Courses” box) 
9. In the new window, if you see multiple courses, click on the one you wish to take
10. Click “Modules” in the left navigation menu, then on the "Laser Awareness Training" module; then click on the "Load Laser Awareness Training in a new window" button
11. Once you’ve completed the presentation you will receive a confirmation e-mail
