The following steps may only be performed with RSO approval.
Background: In the event that ORS needs to restrict an AU and their RAM workers from ordering RAM, their approved radioisotopes can be set as ”Restricted”. If this happens, then when completing a Form C, the Radworker will see “Restricted” by the isotope. If they click “Restricted”, then an error message will be displayed instructing them to contact ORS.
To restrict an isotope:
- Under "PI and Permit Information", click "View Permits"
- Search for and select the Permit to be Restricted. Double-click the permit row or highlight it and click "Edit"
- Change the "Permit Status" to Restricted
- Select the "Isotopes" tab
- Highlight the isotope to be restricted and click "Edit"
- In the "License Information" section, click the box for "Restricted" (see pic below)
- In the "Restriction Comments" field, enter reason why it’s being restricted (e.g., ‘Restricted until AU completes Refresher training’) Click Save
- In the "License Information" section, click the box for "Restricted" (see pic below)
To see the message that will appear to the lab when they attempt to submit a Form C for a restricted isotope: go to Other> Edit Organizational File; select "Program Variables" tab, then "RAM" sub- tab, then the "Inventory" sub-tab. See “Ram Permit Restriction Statement:” at the bottom of this tab.
