Please refer to Method 71, Analysis of DIS Waste Prior to Disposal in ORS Files\Methods for guidance on surveying DIS waste. When DIS waste has been determined indistinguishable from background, complete the following documentation steps, some of which occurs in EHSA.
- Remove the yellow waste tag from the waste container and write your initials and survey date in the appropriate spots on the back of the waste tag.
- Pull the hardcopy Form G for each waste container from the HP Tech file drawer in Boggs 3-60 and staple the corresponding waste tag to the front.
- Transfer the waste items from the waste container to the DISyyyy “container” in EHSA. Be sure to select the DIS "container" for the year in which the waste was surveyed. Instructions for contents transfer can be found here: Transfer Contents Between Waste Containers | Environmental Health & Safety.
- In EHSA > Waste > RAM Waste Containers, click the yellow arrow next to the DIS drum Container # so that the contents can be viewed. For each waste item transferred in Step 3 above, do the following:
- Double click the Contents.
- Enter Final Disposal Date, check Disposed, and enter Decayed in Storage under Final Disposal Method.
- Fill out RS Form 150. Print and sign.
- Paperclip the following behind the RS-150: LSC printout, Form G/waste tag
- Generate the "RAM Waste Manifest" report for the DISyyyy container in EHSA.
- To print the RAM Waste Manifest, click "Waste" on the top navigation bar in EHSA.
- Under the "RAM Waste" section, click the report "RAM Waste Manifest" under the "RAM Waste Container Reports" heading.
- A "Report Parameters" box will pop up. Select the DISyyyy container to which the waste items were transferred in item 3.
- Print the generated report and paperclip it to the front of the packet from item 5.
