These instructions apply to entering waste information for waste that has no assignable ORS source number. Common examples are the "CHIPS" containers accumulated in ORS.
- Add an In-Lab RAM Waste Container when a new container is placed in the lab.
- Click "EHSA".
- Click "Waste".
- Click "RAM Waste Containers" under the "RAM Waste" heading.
- Next to "View", select "All" in the first drop-down, and "Current" in the second drop-down.
- Click the small black arrow next to the applicable in-lab waste container in the "Container/Drain #" column.
- Click "+Add" under the container number.
- Select the Authorized User to whom the waste belongs in the "PI Origin" field. If the Authorized User is unknown, enter the RSO as the Authorized User.
- Click "Select Isotope" and choose the isotope with the correct license line number.
- Leave "Container Type" blank.
- In the "Comments" field type a brief description of the waste placed in the container, e.g., gloves, bench paper, pipette tips, buffer solution, etc.
- Leave the "Orig Inventory #" field blank.
- Select the physical form of the waste in the "Waste Type" field.
- Indicate the date the waste was picked up in the "Receipt Date" field.
- Indicate the activity of the waste picked up in the "Receipt Activity" field
- Click "Save". This will take you back to the "RAM Waste Container" view.
